Founders

"From your efforts my future shines a new light, and brighter."

Tobias Kasyoka,

Clay Alum

PEI was founded by three remarkable women who wanted to make a difference. Collectively their business, educational, international development and philanthropic background helped to create what would become the Clay International Secondary School. Dr.Debra Akre had worked temporarily in Kenya and was challenged by the hardships facing young people she met there. She enlisted Jeanna King to visit the country with her to explore possibilities that would focus on educating secondary school students.

Andy and JIm

Back home, they met Andrea (Andy) Clay whose previous travels to Kenya had made a deep impression on her as well. When Andy and her husband Jim Clay became part of the vision, Project Education Inc. was born and the foundation laid for the Clay International Secondary School.
